Hypnosis has been used from ancient times for relaxation and more recently for surgery and nowadays is used for a variety of both physical and non-physical problems.

Many people find it beneficial to learn relaxation techniques to combat the modern levels of stress and anxieties. More specific help can be given to conquer fears and phobias and improve feelings of self-confidence. Help can also be given to help improve performance at sports and in exams.

Occasionally it is useful to look at the past and regressions can be done but in general Dr. Brougham believes in looking forward confidently to a better, brighter future and this is the aim of the therapy. A variety of relaxation techniques can be learned and Dr. Brougham will work with clients on an individual basis to choose the right technique for them. Self hypnosis can be taught where appropriate so that clients can enhance the therapy themselves.

After an initial assessment and testing for hypnotic suitability clients can attend as many or as few sessions as they wish or find appropriate. For the small number of clients who are not very hypnotisable it is discovered at an early stage and taken into account.
